DPM disputes charges Ukraine and Poland bribed UEFA officials
KIEV, Oct. 25 – Borys Kolesnikov, the deputy prime minister in charge of Ukraine's hosting the European Football Championship Euro 2012, has said that statements made by Spyros Marangos, an official of the Cyprus Football Association, that Ukraine and Poland allegedly bribed UEFA to host finals of the European Football Championship Euro 2012, are untrue. |
Government to spend UAH2 billion to boost affordable housing access
KIEV, Oct. 26 – The Ukrainian Regional Development and Construction Ministry plans to receive UAH 1 billion from the national budget for the realization of the affordable housing construction program and UAH 1 billion in the form of subventions for regional development under a program for the installation of utility networks on land plots where affordable housing is to be built, Regional Development and Construction Minister Volodymyr Yatsuba said. |
Ukrenergy Holding agrees with cabinet on Zakarpatia hydro plant site
KIEV, Oct. 26 – Switzerland's Ukrenergy Holding AG, the managing company of a joint holding of Ukrinterenergo and Switzerland's Korlea Invest Holding AG, has agreed with the Ukrainian cabinet on the location of a land plot of 17.8 hectares to build a first small hydro power plant of the 24 MW cascade on the Teresva River in Zakarpattia region.
The decision is stipulated in cabinet resolution No. 1234 of Oct. 21, 2009 published last week. |

Ambassador: Russia seeking influence through South Stream pipeline
KIEV, Oct. 26 – Russia is trying to apply an additional lever of influence on Ukraine through the fomenting of broad international support for the South Stream gas pipeline, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Turkey Serhiy Korsunsky said in an interview published in a Saturday issue of the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia (Mirror Weekly) Newspaper.
