KYIV, Dec 21 – Ukraine in 2018 plans to increase the share of nuclear fuel purchase from Westinghouse for its nuclear power plants (NPPs) from 40% to 55%, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk said.

Parliament votes to increase fee for mobile communications spectrum

KIEV, Dec. 26 – Parliament has decided to increase the fee for the use of radio frequency spectrum for the needs of mobile communications in the ranges 2,300-2,400 MHz and 2,500-2,690 MHz from UAH 40.92 to UAH 3,000 per MHz.


Cabinet of Ministers proposes UAH25,000 annual tax on luxury cars

KIEV, Dec. 23 - The Cabinet of Ministers has proposed that Parliament impose in 2015 an annual tax of UAH 25,000 on luxury cars (with a diesel engine of over 2.5 liters and with a gasoline engine of over 3 liters, and not older than five years).


NBU, banks hammer out foreign currency loan restructuring memorandum

KIEV, Dec. 24 – The National Bank of Ukraine, banking associations, banks with large amounts of foreign currency mortgage loans issued to individuals, and coordinators of borrowers' groups have agreed a memorandum to regulate the restructuring of consumer loans in foreign currency, the NBU said.


Private gas companies sound off about government royalty initiative

KIEV, Dec. 25 – Private gas producing companies consider the government's initiative to introduce increased royalties for gas production by private firms in 2015, fixed at 55% and 20% depending on the depth of gas wells, to be extremely dangerous.
