IMF warns Ukraine against using state controls over natural gas prices
KYIV, March 30 - The return to control over natural gas prices is not only an extremely ineffective way of subsidizing households, but also leads to abuse of resources due to corruption and curbing the implementation of energy efficiency, IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Goesta Ljungman has said.

Ukraine’s illegal petroleum market may reach UAH 20.6-bln in 2021: report
KYIV, March 30 – In 2021, total losses of the state budget from illegal turnover of petroleum products may reach UAH 20.6 billion, which will be 10% higher than the same indicator in 2020, the A-95 Consulting Group said during an online presentation of a report on illegal schemes in the Ukrainian market for petroleum products on Tuesday.

Committee imposes UAH 4.7-bln fine on Privat’s gas stations
KYIV, March 31 – The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has imposed a fine of UAH 4.7 billion on the operators of the filling station network, which are part of the Privat Group, for anticompetitive concerted actions in setting prices for petroleum products.

Ukrainian cell phone firms report increased voice traffic during quarantine
KYIV, March 30 – Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine, and Lifecell mobile operators note an increase in voice traffic during the quarantine period.
"The traffic structure has changed a little, which is expected. So, compared with the pre-quarantine week, the use of fixed Internet increased by 20-22%. The volume of voice traffic increased by 17%. And mobile Internet traffic remains at the usual level," Kyivstar's press service told Interfax-Ukraine. |
Naftogaz teams up with Wikborg Rein, Covington in dispute vs. Gazprom
KYIV, March 31 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny has extended its contracts with the law firms Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma AS of Norway and Covington & Burling LLP of the U.S. to accompany disputes with Russia's Gazprom and protect its interests in the framework of the lawsuit for the lost Crimean assets. |
