DTEK to start imports of natural gas from Poland within days

KIEV, Oct. 29 - Ukraine’s largest privately-held power generating and mining company, DTEK, plans to start imports of natural gas from Poland within days as part of its energy diversification strategy, the company reported Tuesday.


Ukraine resumes natural gas imports via Poland after suspension

KIEV, Oct. 29 – Ukraine in late October resumed imports of natural gas through Poland, which had been suspended at the beginning of this month.

According to Polish operator Gaz-System S.A., about 1.4 million cubic meters of gas was supplied through Poland to Ukraine on October 26, and about 1.3 million cubic meters on October 27.


Naftogaz Ukrayiny slams court ruling in UkrGaz-Energo litigation

KIEV, Oct. 29 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny believes that court which ruled against it in litigation with UkrGaz-Energo over 4.862 billion cubic meters of gas ignored the evidence.


Germany's Kromberg & Schubrt to invest EUR11.5 million in cable plant

KIEV, Oct. 30 – Germany's Kromberg & Schubert, which owns Kromberg & Schubert Ukraine (Volyn region), has decided to invest another EUR 11.5 million in the construction of the second phase of the plant producing conductor cables for cars, Volyn Regional Administration said in a posting on its Web site.


President reassures Eni and EDF on oil and gas project commitment

KIEV, Oct. 30 - President Viktor Yanukovych on Wednesday assured Eni of Italy and EDF of France that Ukraine is committed to their oil and gas projects in the country that may improve its energy independence.

The meeting comes 10 days after the government has approved a draft production sharing agreement with a consortium led by Eni and EDF to tap Ukraine’s oil and gas fields offshore the Black Sea.
