Metinvest mulling imports of coking coal from United States

KIEV, Nov. 30 – Metinvest, the largest Ukrainian private mining and metal company is considering the increase of imports of coking coal from its coalmines in the United States, if the blocking of coking coal supplies from Russia and the territories of Donbas that are not under control of the Ukrainian government continues.

Sloviansk power plant to buy coal from rebel-held territory

KIEV, Nov. 27 - The Sloviansk thermal power plant (part of Donbasenergo) will buy coal from Snizhneantratsyt and possibly from Sverdlovantratsyt, both located in the military-operation zone in Donbas region, which are not controlled by the Ukrainian government, a Donbasenergo representative told the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities in Kiev on Thursday.


Donbas hostilities marring gas field exploration, says Shell VP

NERC reduces tariffs for electricity generated from renewable sources

KIEV, Nov. 29 – The National Electricity Regulatory Commission has reduced tariffs for electricity generated from renewable sources for December to the minimal fixed level (by 1.42%).

The decision was made at a commission meeting in Kiev on Monday.
