Authorities raid Kiev's Boryspil airport in embezzlement probe

KIEV, July 26 - Kiev prosecutors and agents from the SBU Security Service are conducting searches in the premises of state-run Boryspil Airport as part of a criminal investigation into large-scale embezzlement of budget funds during state procurements.


Ukraine to launch digital excise payment tracking system next year

KIEV, July 26 - Ukraine's State Fiscal Service is planning to launch the digital control system of payment of excise duty as well as the traceability of the origin and movement of excisable products in the tobacco industry in 2017.


Airline passenger transportation reported up 19.4% in first half

KIEV, July 27 – Ukrainian airlines saw a 19.4% rise in passenger transportation in January-June year-over-year, to 3.26 million people.

According to the State Aviation Service, 28 Ukrainian airlines that serviced 34,100 commercial flights operated on the passenger and cargo transportation market in H1. Some 17 Ukrainian airlines were involved in passenger transportation last year.


Ukrzaliznytsia chairman calls for increased international operations

KIEV, July 27 – Ukrzaliznytsia Chairman Wojciech Balczun has said that international operations of the company should be stepped up.

He seeks to create the UZ Cargo International brand within six months, Balczun wrote on his Facebook page, commenting on the board's action plan presented to the Infrastructure Ministry by him on July 25.


NABU director defends criminal case against Odessa Port-Side officials

KIEV, July 24 – The Presidential Administration and the State Fiscal Service are preparing draft laws to relax the administration of taxes and duties and they will be submitted to Parliament this autumn, head of Presidential Administration Borys Lozhkin said.


Ukraine wage arrears up 45.1% so far this year, government reports

KIEV, July 27 - Wage arrears in Ukraine 2015 grew 5.8% in June and since early 2015 they grew by 45.1%, the State Statistics Service reported.

According to the service, wage arrears on July 1, 2015 amounted to UAH 1.916 billion, or 5.4% of the monthly wage fund for June.


Ukraine wage arrears fell 6% in June, to UAH1.187b, govt reports

KIEV, July 25 - The overall sum of wage arrears in Ukraine as of July 1 shrank by 6% from June 1, to UAH 1.187 billion, the National Statistics Service said on Monday.

Delayed wages as of July 1 were 2.6% less on January 1, 2011 and 33.8% down on July 1, 2010.
