NBU introducing rules for hryvnia use in foreign operations

KIEV, June 27 – The National Bank of Ukraine is introducing rules for using the hryvnia in foreign economic operations.

The rules are stipulated in NBU resolution No. 209 of May 28, 2012 registered in the Justice Ministry on June 12.


Government divided on plan to revive oil refining in Ukraine

Russia lifts some restrictions on poultry imports from Ukraine

MOSCOW, July 1 – Russia has lifted almost all the restrictions on poultry imports from Ukraine starting from July 1, Rosselkhoznadzor, the agricultural watchdog, told Interfax.

Cabinet studying merger of banks seized by government last year

KIEV, July 1 – The Ukrainian cabinet is studying the merger of banks which became under control of the government in 2009 after going under.

"As for Bank Kiev, the most logical development of the bank is to merge with one of the two recapitalized banks: Ukrgasbank or Rodovid Bank," Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Tyhypko, a former National Bank of Ukraine governor, said in an interview with the Kommersant-Ukraine newspaper.


Tax administration report: 2008 saw 400 more hryvnia millionaires

KIEV, July 1 – The incomes of 7,423 Ukrainian citizens in 2008 exceeded UAH1 million, which is 400 persons up year-over-year, deputy State Tax Administration Chairman Serhiy Lekar, said on Tuesday, referring prieliminary results of the individuals' income declaration campaign.
