Ukraine’s gas transit deal with Slovakia opens door for virtual reverse

KYIV, Jan 2 – The interconnection agreement (IA) signed in Brussels on Tuesday in line with the European rules starting from January 1, 2020 between the operators of the gas transmission systems of Ukraine and Slovakia opens doors to virtual reverse gas flows, Naftogaz Ukrayiny CEO Andriy Kobolev has said.


Ukraine to extend operating life of Yuzhnoukrainsk reactor 1

KIEV, Dec. 27 – Reactor 1 of Yuzhnoukrainsk nuclear power plant after the termination of its operating life will be exploited under a separate permit of the state inspectorate for nuclear regulation.


EnergoAtom to issue UAH1.7 billion of 10 year bonds by year end

KIEV, Dec. 27 – National Nuclear Generating Company EnergoAtom by late 2012 will issue 10-year unsecured bonds worth UAH 1.7 billion.

The decision is stipulated in cabinet resolution No. 1062-r of December 26.

Lawmakers seek EU’s assistance in helping agriculture companies in Ukraine

Austria’s Kronospan invests EUR 47-mln furniture manufacturing in Rivne

KYIV, Nov 29 – The Austrian group Kronospan, which initiated the creation of the Kronospan Rivne Industrial Park—a project aimed at forming a furniture cluster around its wood-based panel manufacturing plant – has already invested EUR 47 million in preparatory works and infrastructure. This includes EUR 34 million invested during the ongoing war, according to the Ministry of Economy.


Ukrainian nuclear power units cut power generation after Russian attack

KYIV, Nov 29 – During the Russian missile and drone attack on Thursday morning, the Khmelnytsky, Rivne and Pivdennoukrainsk nuclear power plants (NPPs) preventively reduced their capacity, and one of the Rivne NPP power units was disconnected from the grid, said Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).


Ukraine to show scale of environmental damages at conference in Dubai

Court orders Firtash to return 49% stake in titanium company to Ukraine

KYIV, Nov 30 – The Central Economic Court of Appeal on November 30 confirmed the decision of the lower instance court to return 49% of shares of Zaporizhia Titanium Magnesium Combine (ZTMC), which belonged to Dmytro Firtash's Tolexis Trading from Group DF, to the management of the State Property Fund (SPF) of Ukraine.


France’s OCEA to help Ukraine build ships for Border Guard Service

KYIV, Dec 1 – The French shipbuilding company OCEA and the Ukrainian company NIBULON signed a contract on the construction of five vessels for the needs of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv, 15 ships are already under construction in France, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has reported.
