Ukraine’s cell phone users down 1.7% at 55.72mn as of July 1, service says

KYIV, Aug 22 – The number of mobile communications subscribers in Ukraine as of July 1, 2017 totaled 55.72 million, which is 1.7% less than as of early 2017 and July 1, 2016, the State Statistics Service has reported.


Russia supplies 10mn mt/year of coal to Ukraine, Russian minister says

Ukraine’s oil, gas companies show fastest growth in 2016, ministry says

KYIV, Aug 22 – Oil and gas companies showed the fastest growth in 2016 among 94 largest state-owned enterprises in Ukraine, boosting net revenue by 46.8% year-over-year, to UAH 192.9 billion, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry said in a report.

No injuries reported in explosion outside Kiev Sberbank branch

KIEV, Aug. 27 – In the early hours of Thursday morning, an explosion occurred outside a branch of PJSC Subsidiary Bank Sberbank of Russia (Kiev, Sberbank Group) located on Peremohy Avenue, however no one was injured in the blast.

"Today at 03:00 a blast was heard outside one of the bank branches on Peremohy Avenue. The security guards reported that signaling worked," the press service of Main Department of Interior Ministry in Kiev city reported.

Cargo ship leaves Illichivsk loaded with cars to free Libya hostages

KIEV, Aug. 27 – The Sea Amazon, a dry cargo ship carrying cars demanded by Libyan businessmen to free Ukrainians they have taken captive, has departed from the port of Illichivsk (Odessa region) for the port of Benghazi (Libya), the Segodnya newspaper reported on Tuesday, citing the wife of the ship's mechanic, Volodymyr Zhorin, Natalia.


Foreign minister: Auto duty will be cancelled if Kiev signs EU deals

KIEV, Aug. 27 – Ukraine's decision to impose special duties on imported cars will be canceled automatically if the country signs an agreement on association and a free trade area with the European Union, Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara said.


Return of Roshen products to Russia could take time, says official
