Flights begin at new Boryspil International Airport terminal
KIEV, Nov. 1 - Terminal F opened at Kiev’s Boryspil International Airport on the night of October 30 to October 31.
The first flight serviced at Terminal F was a Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kiev) flight to the popular Egyptian health resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, a correspondent from Interfax-Ukraine reported. |
New tax code won’t solve shadow economy problem, says committee chair
KIEV, Nov. 1 – The recommendations of the International Monetary Fund on the draft Tax Code, which has been adopted at first reading by Parliament, will not settle the problem of the shadow economy in Ukraine, according to Natalia Korolevska, the head of the parliamentary committee for industrial and regulatory policy and entrepreneurship. |
Kiev’s UkrESCO opens 55,000 cubic meter capacity glass foam plant
KIEV, Nov. 2 – Ukrainian Energy Service Company (Kiev, UkrESCO) has opened a 55,000 cubic meter per year glass foam plant on the basis of NVP Technology Ltd. in Shostka (Sumy region), reads a posting on the official Web site of the National Agency of Ukraine on Ensuring Efficient Energy Resources Management (NAER). |
Donetsk’s Gerc Investment to open office in Iraqi Kurd capital
KIEV, Oct. 30 - Donetsk-based Gerc Investment and Construction Group plans in November to open a representative office in Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan.

Russian gas price likely to rise for coming year, according to study
KIEV, Oct. 30 – If the price of oil on the international markets remains at around $80 per barrel until the end of 2009, next year the price of Russian natural gas for Ukraine will rise from $208.10 per thousand cubic meters in Q4 to $229.40 in Q1, 2010 and $335.10 in Q4, 2010, according to the Kiev-based Center for Energy Studies. |
GDP will fall 16% this year, rise 3% next year, according to Fitch
KIEV, Nov. 2 – Ukraine's GDP will fall by 16% in 2009 but will grow by 3% in 2010, the Fitch rating agency has forecast.
The agency said that the average annual inflation in Ukraine in 2009 would slow to 16% from 25.2% in 2008. In 2010, Fitch expects a slowdown in average annual inflation to 15%. |
