Ukraine to start pumped storage power plants, hydroelectric projects

KYIV, Aug 27 – Ukraine plans to start the implementation of a number of projects for the construction of pumped storage power plants, reconstruction of hydroelectric power plants and the development of mini- and small hydroelectric power plants with a capacity of 1-10 MW, as well as energy storage projects in the near future, acting Energy Minister Olha Buslavets said during a business breakfast with representatives of large German companies in Berlin as part of her two-day official visit to Germany.


Ukraine prepares to start accepting bids to sell insolvent Bank Arcada

KYIV, Aug 27 – Ukraine is preparing to start accepting bids for insolvent Bank Arcada, the Deposit Guarantee Fund, a state agency that now controls the bank, said in a statement.

The fund suggested a number of ways to withdraw the bank from the market, including liquidation of the financial institution with the alienation of all or part of its assets and liabilities in favor of the accepting bank or alienation of all or part of the assets and liabilities of the insolvent bank in favor of the accepting bank with the revocation of the bank license of the insolvent bank and its subsequent elimination.


Ukraine, Germany seek to start energy partnership

KYIV, Aug 26 – The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture improved the inflation forecast for 2020 to 5.9% December over December, while in the macroeconomic forecast approved in March, this indicator was at the level of 11.6%, according to the forecast of the socio-economic development of Ukraine for 2021-2023.
