Ukrenergo to sign EUR300 million deal to build transmission line

KIEV, Sept. 25 – National energy company Ukrenergo plans by late 2009 to sign a credit agreement worth EUR300 million with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank to build the Zaporizhia NPP-Kakhovska substation 750 kV power transmission line, the acting head of Ukrenergo, Kostiantyn Uschakovsky, said on Thursday.


Analysts: Naftogaz unlikely to conclude debt restructuring on time

KIEV, Sept. 25 - Ukrainian national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrayiny is unlikely to conclude its debt restructuring on time, according to analysts surveyed by Interfax.

The analysts also said Naftogaz's offer to replace $500 million in eurobonds maturing on Sept. 30, 2009 with state-guaranteed bonds maturing in 2014 was unlikely to satisfy creditors.

Kiev court rejects SPF appeal seeking to reverse NFP privatization

KIEV, Sept. 26 ??“ Kiev Economic Court has rejected an appeal by the State Property Fund against Prydniprovia industrial and financial consortium to return a bare majority stake in Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant in Dnipropetrovsk region, and fully satisfied a counter-claim by the consortium against the fund to recognize Prydniprovia as the fair buyer of the plant.
