Energy Ministry seeks EUR 300-mln in loans on concessional terms

KYIV, July 31 – Ukraine's Energy Ministry is continuing talks with state banks and international financial institutions (IFIs) on attracting EUR 300 million of loans on concessional terms, in particular, to cover part of the debt of the state enterprise Guaranteed Buyer at green rates.


EBRD to lend EUR 51.85-mln to Ukrgazvydobuvannia for gas output

KYIV, July 31 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide a EUR 51.85 million loan to Ukrgazvydobuvannia (UGV) for maintaining gas production in Ukraine and boosting energy efficiency.


Ukrainians bank reports cumulative UAH 23.8-bln profit in Jan-June

KYIV, July 31 – In January-June, solvent banks of Ukraine received UAH 23.8 billion of net profit, which is 23% less than in the same period in 2019 (more than UAH 31 billion), according to a Friday posting on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).


Ukraine, World Bank to sign $350-mln loan by end-August: Ministry

KYIV, July 31 – Ukraine and the World Bank plan to sign a $350 million loan agreement at the end of August 2020, the Ministry of Finance reported.

"It is expected that the loan agreement between Ukraine and the IBRD will signed at the end of August. After the signing and entry into force of the loan agreement, its funds will be transferred to the general fund of the national budget," the press service said.


Ukraine identifies 10 markets most promising for exports

KYIV, July 31 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has conducted a survey of Ukrainian industrial exporters and identified a list of 10 countries and regions that interest them the most, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.


Ukraine announces tender to remove sunken Delfi tanker near Odesa

KYIV, Aug 3 – The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) has announces a tender for removing the sunken Delfi tanker from the waters of the Dolphin Beach in Odesa.

Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Vladyslav Krykliy said on his Facebook page on Sunday, August 2, the bids for the tender will be accepted until August 5.


Commission revises solar power tariffs to comply with new legislation

KYIV, Aug 3 – The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ukraine (NEURC) has revised the feed-in tariffs for solar power plants and wind farms in line with law No. 810-IX dated July 21 amending certain laws of Ukraine to improve the conditions of support for electricity generation from alternative energy sources, according to which the tariffs must be reduced from August 1.


Ukraine boosts natural gas transit 23% on year in January-July

KYIV, Aug 2 – Ukraine in January-July 2017 increased transit of natural gas through its gas transportation system (GTS) by 23% (9.943 billion cubic meters) compared to the same period in 2016, to 53.199 billion cubic meters.

KYIV, Aug 3 - Ukraine increased gas inventories in underground storage in July by 1.638 billion cubic meters (bcm), according to operational data from Ukrtransgaz.


Ukraine should not impose export restrictions on scrap metal/wood: EU

KYIV, Aug 3 – Ukraine should take no measures that are in contradiction with the principles of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) commitments, such as exports duties for scrap metal and wood ban, Head of the EU Support Group for Ukraine Peter Wagner said.
