Ukraine to increase gas transit by 9.6% to 105 bcm this year

KIEV, Nov. 2 - Ukraine plans to increase gas transit to Europe and CIS countries by 9.6% to 105 billion cubic meters in 2010, the chairman of Naftogaz Ukrayiny's executive board, Yevhen Bakulin, told journalists in Kiev on Tuesday.

KIEV, Nov. 2 - The Transport and Communications Ministry is taking measures to prevent the spread of viral diseases around Ukraine.

As the Transport Ministry reported, disinfection is being carried out in airports, railway stations, marine passenger terminals, riverboat stations and bus terminals.


S&P lowers ratings outlook on Ukraine to Stable, from Positive

MOSCOW, Nov. 2 - Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has revised its outlook on Ukraine to stable from positive.

The agency affirmed the 'CCC+/C' long- and short-term foreign currency sovereign credit ratings, the 'B-/C' long- and short-term local currency ratings, and the 'uaBBB' Ukraine national scale ratings.


Most Ukrainian mining companies report large iron-ore production drop

KIEV, Nov. 3 - Most Ukrainian mining companies reduced iron ore production significantly in January-October.

Poltava Mining, the core asset of the London-listed Ferrexpo plc, cut commercial pellet production from its own feedstock and under tolling arrangements tentatively 8.3% year-on-year in January-October to 7.202 million tons, Ferrexpo said in a press release.
