2% pension tax on forex transaction goes out of effect with new year

KIEV, Jan. 3 – The requirement to collect 2% pension tax from transactions to buy cash foreign currency lost effect on January 1, 2017, the National Bank of Ukraine told Interfax-Ukraine.


NBU lowers maximum allowable individual cash payment by 67%

KIEV, Jan. 3 - The maximum amount of cash payments for individuals from January 4, 2017 has been reduced by 67%, from UAH 150,000 to UAH 50,000, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) approved the corresponding changes by its decree No. 407 dated November 25, 2016, which has been posted on its website.


Fitch follows suit and lowers ratings boom on failed Ukrainian bank

KIEV, Jan. 4 - Fitch Ratings has downgraded PJSC CB PrivatBank's Long-Term Foreign Currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) to 'RD' (Restricted Default) from 'CCC' and removed it from Rating Watch Evolving (RWE).


NBU lifts restrictions on some export services transactions

KIEV, Jan. 4 – The National Bank of Ukraine has lifted restriction of the term of 120 days for transactions to export services (apart from transport and insurance services) and intellectual property and copyrights, according to the law on removing administrative obstacles for exports of services that took effect on December 3, 2016.

NBU: Business Activity Expectations Index drops 47.2 points in November

KYIV, Dec 3 – The Business Activity Expectations Index (BAEI), calculated by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on a scale from zero to 100, after increasing by 0.7 points in October, fell by 2.3 points in November – to 47.2 points, falling below the February 2024 value (47.5 points), the regulator’s website reports.


Ukraine's economy to grow 3.9% on year in 2024, Economy Ministry says

KYIV, Dec 3 – Ukraine's Ministry of Economy, which mid-year downgraded its 2024 economic growth forecast from 4.6% to 3.5%, has revised it upward to 3.9%, according to Valeria Voitenko, a representative of the Ministry. She shared this update during a discussion organized by the Centre for Economic Strategy in Kyiv on Tuesday.


Ukraine switches to $47-mln surplus in balance of payment in October

KYIV, Dec 1 – The surplus of the consolidated balance of payments of Ukraine in October 2022 amounted to $47 million, compared with the deficit of $1.1 billion in October last year, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported on its website.

Ukrainian Sich-2 satellite ready to be shipped to U.S. for launch: official

KYIV, Dec 1 – The Ukrainian satellite Sich-2-30 manufactured in Dnipro has successfully passed the planned tests and is ready to be sent to the United States, where the launch of the device is planned at Cape Canaveral on January 10, 2022, Chairman of the State Space Agency of Ukraine Volodymyr Taftay has said.
