Metinvest suspends Illich Iron and Steel sheet metal shop operation

KIEV, Oct. 27 – The Metinvest Group has suspended operation of the sheet-metal shop 3000 at the Mariupol-based Illich Iron and Steel Works, for overhaul.

In order to improve energy equipment, the plant will replace pipelines and repair electric equipment.


American Chamber of Commerce calls for veto of tax code changes

KIEV, Oct. 27 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine has asked President Viktor Yanukovych to veto bill No. 8521 on amendments to the Tax Code, as the resumption of value-added tax refunds to grain exporters foreseen in the document implies discrimination against several market players.


Kiev city officials announce plans to trim greenhouse gas emissions

Interpipe owner expresses high hopes for post-CIS deal business

Auto importers seeking increase in car warehouse storage period

KIEV, Oct. 27 – The All-Ukrainian Association of Automobile Importers and Dealers is initiating an increase in the period of storage of automobiles in bonded warehouses without customs clearance from three to 12 months, Director General Oleh Nazarenko announced.


NBU: $2 billion eurobond has boosted surplus to $1.2 billion

KIEV, Oct. 26 – The placement by the government of eurobonds worth $2 billion in September has ensured a surplus of Ukraine's consolidated balance of payments in September of $1.241 billion, while Ukraine saw a $30 million surplus in August, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.
