Government reports coal production up by 5.2% in first half
KIEV, July 4 - Ukraine increased coal production by 5.2% year-on-year to 42.799 million tons in the first half of 2012.
Production of coking coal slumped 1% to 12.649 million tons, while production of thermal coal grew 8% to 30.151 million tons, the Energy and Coal Ministry told Interfax-Ukraine. |
NBU to oversee strategic plan for development of state-run banks
KIEV, July 4 – The National Bank of Ukraine is to oversee the realization of a strategy for the development of state-run banks, reads an annual address of the Ukrainian president to lawmakers presented to Parliament.
"[The NBU will oversee] the reorganization of state banks into a tool of effective economic and financial policy via the adoption of a single strategy for the development and operation of state banks, with division of strategic directions for each of them… [via] the provision of efficient controls by the NBU over the realization of the strategies," reads the document. |
Skhidny ore mining starts Kirovohrad pilot uranium extraction project
KIEV, July 4 - Skhidny ore mining and processing enterprise (Zhovti Vody, Dnipropetrovsk region) has started a pilot uranium ore extraction project in the Novokostiantynivske uranium field (Kirovohrad region), the company's director general, Oleksandr Sorokin, has told the press. |
LNG terminal feasibility study tender to be announced Wednesday
KIEV, July 4 – State-run company LNG Terminal National Project is planning to officially announce on July 6 a tender for services to draw up a feasibility study for a LNG terminal, 2011, the head of the state agency for national projects management (Ukrnatsproekt), Vladyslav Kaskiv, said in Kiev. |
US Aerospace to join Ukraine’s Antonov Co on Pentagon contract bid
NEW YORK, June 2 - A US aerospace company on Friday announced a tie-up with a state-owned Ukraine aircraft maker to bid on the Pentagon's $35-billion contract to supply aerial refueling tankers, AFP reported.
US Aerospace, Inc. said it had entered a "strategic cooperation alliance" on Thursday with Antonov Company, in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). |
