NBU lifting restrictions on sale of cash foreign currency by banks to public

KYIV, Dec 1 – From December 1 this year, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is lifting all restrictions on the sale of cash foreign currency by banks and non-bank financial institutions to the public in order to level the spread between cash and non-cash rates, the regulator said on its website on Thursday evening.


Greece to host business conference on Ukraine reconstruction in February

KYIV, Dec 4 – The Business Activity Expectations Index (BAEI), which the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) calculates on a scale from zero to 100, again dropped by 0.5 points in November to 49.1 points, remaining below its neutral level of 50 points, for the second month in a row, the central bank said last week.


Hungary’s Triosan to build EUR 68-mln greenhouse complex in Lviv region

KYIV, Dec 4 - Triosan Holding Ukraine LLC, a representative office of a Hungarian company developing geothermal energy in Europe, will invest EUR 68 million in the construction of a greenhouse complex in Lviv region that will operate using geothermal energy, head of Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytsky said on Facebook.


Vestas to help DTEK build Eastern Europe’s largest wind power plant

KYIV, Dec 4 – DTEK Group and wind turbine manufacturer Vestas signed a memorandum of understanding to complete the construction of the largest wind power plant in Eastern Europe – Tylihulska Wind Farm with a total capacity of 500 megawatts (MW).


Ukrenergo secures EUR 300-mln loan from EBRD to restore power grid

KYIV, Dec 2 – Ukrenergo has attracted EUR 300 million in loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as well as EUR 72 million in grant funds from the Netherlands to restore networks and improve the financial stability of the company.

Ukraine’s gas imports drop 27.7% on month in November

KYIV, Dec 2 – The supply of natural gas to Ukraine from the EU countries in November 2022 amounted to 228 million cubic meters, which is 27.7% less than in October (315.4 million cubic meters), according to the operational data of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU).

KYIV, Dec 4 – Ukraine’s consumer prices will probably increase 6% on the year in 2019, down from 9.8% hike in 2018 and 13.7% in 2017, in line with the central bank’s plans to keep inflation under control.
