Government reports 12.5% year-on-year coal production drop in Q1

KIEV, April 2 - Ukraine reduced coal production approximately 12.5% year-on-year in January-March to 17.718 million tons, the Coal Ministry told Interfax.

Coking coal production fell 19.7% to just over 5.88 million tons, and steam coal fell 8.5% to 11.83 million tons.


State Aviation Administration to submit 5 planes to new scrutiny

KIEV, April 3 – Ukraine’s State Aviation Administration plans to conduct the certification of five Ukrainian airlines under new standards in 2009.

Deputy Transport and Communications Minister and eead of the State Aviation Administration Oleksandr Davydov said that Wizz Air Ukraine, Ukraine International Airlines, AeroSvit-International Airlines, Antonov Design Bureau and Dniproavia would undergo certification.
