KYIV, Aug 31 – Energoatom, the state nuclear power generator, plans in 2018 to invest UAH 5.16 billion of credit funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) in improving the safety of power units at nuclear power plants, which is 32.4% of the total investment program for 2018.

KIEV, Sept. 5 - Production and exports of sunflower oil from Ukraine in the 2015/2016 marketing year (MY, September-August) increased by 10%, to 4.85 million tons and 4.4 million tons, respectively.


Government draws up new production sharing agreement for Chevron

KIEV, Sept. 3 – The Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry and the interagency commission for organizing and signing production sharing agreements have drawn up a new draft PSA on the Oleska shale gas field (Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions) to be signed between Ukraine, Chevron Corporation and Nadra Oleska LLC, which foresees the transfer of 10% of state income from the sale of fossil fuel to the management of regional councils.


Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant may close due to high electricity costs

KIEV, Sept. 3 - Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (Dnipropetrovsk region) has significantly reduced the production of ferroalloys and is on the verge of a complete halt because of high tariffs for electricity.
