NBU, other agencies working on legal definition for cryptocurrencies

KYIV, Dec 4 – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market and the National Commission for Financial Service Markets Regulation have said it is impossible to declare cryptocurrencies monetary units, currency and a payment unit of another country, currency valuable, e-money, securities or quasi-money within the current Ukrainian legislation.


Direct and guaranteed state debt reported down 0.4% in October

KIEV , Dec. 1 - The total direct and guaranteed state debt of Ukraine in October decreased by $270 million, or by 0.4%, to $68.35 billion.

According to the Ministry of Finance, in hryvnia terms, taking into account changes in the hryvnia exchange rate, the state debt reduced by 2%, or UAH 35.4 billion, to UAH 1.743 trillion.


Pivdenne Machine Building ships two launch vehicle components to NASA

KIEV , Dec. 2 – Dnipro-based Pivdenne Machine Building Plant named after Makarov (Pivdenmash) has shipped to the U.S. Orbital ATK Inc. two main structures of the first stage of the Antares medium-class launch vehicle, whose cargo flights to the International Space Station (ISS) under a contract with NASA have resumed in October after its upgrading.


Poland and Ukraine agree to speed up natural gas pipeline construction

KIEV, Dec. 2 – Poland and Ukraine agreed on Friday to speed up construction of a natural gas pipeline link between the two countries weeks after the European Commission allowed Gazprom to channel more Russian gas to the Czech Republic via Germany.

Naftogaz board turns down Ukrtransgaz equipment purchase request

KIEV, Dec. 2 – The board of national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrayiny has not approved the purchase of equipment and works by Ukrtransgaz from Sumy Machine-Building Science and Production Association (Sumy NPO) to reconstruct Ananiev, Zadniprovska and Pivdennobuhska compressor stations for over UAH 4 billion.


EBRD extends $10 million loan to Ukraine 's TC Meest Express LLC

KIEV , Dec. 2 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is extending a $10 million loan to Ukraine ’s Trading Company (TC) Meest Express LLC, a leading provider of postal and logistic services for worldwide delivery to Ukraine , Eastern Europe and the CIS region.


World Bank to withdraw $220 million from Ukravtodor loan portfolio

KIEV , Dec. 2 – The World Bank has decided to temporarily withdraw $220 million from the loan portfolio of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor).
