Rosatom chief seeking atomic energy merger at Sochi conference

Russia’s United Shipbuilding mulls merger with 2 Ukrainian companies
KIEV, May 6 – Russia's OJSC United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) is considering merging with two Ukrainian companies - Zorya-Mashproekt gas turbine scientific and industrial complex (Mykolaiv) and OJSC Feodosiya More Shipyard, according to the company's president Roman Trotsenko. |
Orbital highway around Kiev estimated to cost UAH50 billion
KIEV, May 6 – The estimated cost of the construction of an orbital road around Kiev is around UAH 50 billion, not taking into account the price of land, according to First Vice Premier and a candidate for Kiev mayor post, Oleksandr Turchynov. |
Naftogaz Ukrayiny losses doubled in 2007; sales revenues also off
KIEV, May 6 – The consolidated losses of the national Naftogaz Ukrayiny for 2006 under international accounting standards were UAH2.178 billion, which is UAH 1.171 billion more year-over-year, according to a consolidated report of the state holding for 2006 audited by Ernst & Young, which was also sent to Interfax-Ukraine.
The consolidated revenues from sales of Naftogaz Ukrayiny fell by 25.4%, or by UAH 9.392 billion year-over-year, to UAH27.575 billion, and its gross profits went down by 8.3%, or UAH 143,000, to UAH1.581 billion. |
Flexibility possible in exchange rates, says head of NBU advisors
KIEV, May 6 – The pace of change in the balance of payments in 2008 allows an increase in the flexibility of the hryvnia exchange rate and a review of the exchange rate forecasts for this year by the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine, according to Valeriy Lytvytsky, head of the group of NBU advisors. |
