Ukraine’s reliance on nuclear power helps survive winter, minister says

KYIV, Feb 4 – The high level of utilization of nuclear power plants and the availability of sufficient generation reserves, together with a reduction in gas consumption and the start of its imports are key factors that will ensure Ukraine's stable passage through the 2021-2022 heating season.


Most foreign traders withdrew gas from storages in Ukraine in 2021

KYIV, Feb 4 – In 2021, 7.54 billion cubic meters of gas stored in customs warehouse mode were withdrawn from the underground gas storage (UGS) facilities in Ukraine, according to data from Ukrtransgaz (UTG).


Ukraine likely to pay up to UAH 2.4-bln to VRI bond holders in 2023

KYIV, Feb 4 – Ukraine may pay from UAH 1.5 billion to UAH 2.4 billion to holders of value recovery instruments (VRI) in 2023, as economic growth in 2021 may reach 3.2-3.3% of GDP, experts polled by Interfax-Ukraine have said, relying on data from the State Statistics Service on the growth of real GDP in October-December by 5.9%.

Ukrgazvydobuvannia cuts natural gas output 1.2% on year to 13.5Bcm in 2020

KYIV, Feb 5 – Ukrgazvydobuvannia, part of the Naftogaz Exploration and Production division, in 2020 reduced production of gas by 1.2% (170 million cubic meters) compared to 2019, to 13.5 billion cubic meters, and the company's gross production was 14.23 billion cubic meters.


Bad loans drop 18.9% on year in Ukraine to UAH 430.3-bln in 2020

KYIV, Feb 5 - The loan portfolio of Ukrainian banks in 2020 decreased by 4.4%, to UAH 1.05 trillion, in particular the volume of non-performing loans (NPL) by 18.9%, to UAH 430.371 billion, according to a report on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).


Hardware chain Epicenter K Group to build UAH 3-bln ceramic tile plant

KYIV, Feb 6 – Ukrlandfarming agricultural holding with Avangard agricultural holding controlled by the first one on February 4 signed an agreement on restructuring a UAH 4.4 billion debt to state-owned Oschadbank, the press service of Ukrlandfarming has reported.


Kness Group, in talks with Ukrgazbank, to unveil rooftop solar power projects

KYIV, Feb 6 – The Kness Group, planning to start production of rooftop solar arrays for households by summer, is holding negotiations with Ukrgasbank (Kyiv) on organization of the respective program to lend to individuals, Kness Director General Serhiy Shakalov said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony to launch Kness PV Plant in Vinnytsia on Tuesday.
