Ukrainians increase air tickets bookings 32% on week, CES reports
KYIV, May 31 – The number of booked air tickets for the week increased by 32%, and the frequency of trips of Ukrainians to the place of work also increased by 16%, according to an Economic Recovery Tracker study conducted by the Centre for Economic Strategy (CES).

Gazprom official puts positive spin on Naftogaz arbitration ruling
MOSCOW, June 6 - Gazprom considers the Stockholm arbitration tribunal's preliminary ruling in a dispute with Ukraine's Naftogaz to be favorable.
"Have you read the ruling? I have and the balance according to this ruling is positive for Gazprom," the Russian gas giant's deputy CEO, Alexander Medvedev, told reporters. |
Naftogaz CEO: Stockholm calculation of Gazprom fine will take months
KIEV, June 6 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny CEO Andriy Kobolev predicts that the calculation of the compensation that is due to the Ukrainian company under a separate ruling by the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce in the dispute with the Russian gas monopolist Gazprom will take two to three months. |
Postponed PrivatBank noteholder meeting rescheduled for June 21
KIEV, June 6 – A meeting of holders of PrivatBank notes worth $175 million falling due on February 28, 2018, and notes worth $200 million falling due on January 23, 2018, has been rescheduled for June 21, U.K.-based note issuer UK SPV Credit Finance plc announced on the London Stock Exchange's website on June 6. |
Pivdenmash says it will resume production of Sea Launch Zenith rockets
KIEV, June 6 – Ukraine's state-owned Production Association Yuzhny Machine-Building Plant named after A.M. Makarov (Yuzhmash, or Pivdenmash in Ukrainian) has announced it is about to resume the manufacture of the Zenith carrier rockets under international projects such as Sea Launch and Land Launch. |
Poland and Ukraine unveil gas hub plans
WARSAW, June 6 - Poland and Ukraine said Tuesday they are working toward developing a regional gas hub that would end Central and Eastern Europe's dependence on Russian supplies and keep prices in line with European standards, AP reported. |
Naftogaz cries foul over 2 bcm removal of gas from storage site
KIEV, June 7 – A representative of Ukraine's State Enforcement Service on June 3 fraudulently transferred around 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Ukrnafta, removing it from the underground gas storage facility managed by Ukrtransgaz, the owner of a 50%-plus-one-share stake in Ukrnafta and 100% of Ukrtransgaz, Naftogaz Ukrayiny charged. |
