EBRD works on EUR 350-mln loan for Ukraine’s ArcelorMittal steel maker

KYIV, Oct 4 - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is organizing a long-term loan for ArcelorMittal Group in the amount of up to EUR 350 million to finance capital investments in ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih.

KYIV, Oct 5 – The Cabinet of Ministers has approved regulating legal issues of refarming of radio frequency spectrum (RFS) and technology neutrality for the introduction of the LTE, 4G fourth generation mobile communications system.

Fitch lowers Ukraine foreign currency ratings to Restricted Default

KIEV, Oct. 6 – Fitch Ratings has taken the following rating actions on Ukraine: Long-term foreign currency issuer default rating (IDR) was downgraded to 'RD' (Restricted Default) from 'C'; Long-term local currency IDR was affirmed at 'CCC'; while Short-term foreign currency IDR was downgraded to 'RD' from 'C'.


Government reports inflationary upsurge in September, to 2.3%

KIEV, Oct. 6 - Consumer prices in Ukraine, after two months of a decline by 0.8-1%, in September started to grow again, with inflation last month reaching 2.3%, the State Statistics Service reported.

Ukraine's consumption of natural gas reported down 15.5% YTD

KIEV, Oct. 6 - Ukraine’s consumption of natural gas decreased by 15.5% year-on-year to 27.34 billion cubic meters in January-August, down from 32.36 billion cu m consumed a year ago, the energy and coal industry ministry said Monday.
