Energy regulator cuts gas price ceiling for industrial customers
KIEV, Dec. 31 – The National Commission For Energy Regulation (NCER) from January 1, 2014 cut the ceiling for the price of natural gas for industrial consumers by 10%, to UAH 3,113 per 1,000 cubic meters and by 29.2% for companies financed from the national and local budgets, to UAH 2,448 per 1,000 cubic meters (value added tax (VAT), surcharges, tariffs for transportation, distribution and supply are not included). |
Ukraine gas imports through Poland and Hungary reported above target
KIEV, Jan. 8 - Ukraine in 2013 imported 2 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas from Europe through Poland and Hungary, which is about 1.5 times higher than the target foreseen in the balance of gas supply and distribution (1.3 billion cubic meters), according to operational monitoring data from the gas transportation system (GTS) operators of Hungary and Poland, namely FGSZ Ltd, Gaz-System S.A. |
Law on Ukraine's electricity market takes effect with New Year
KIEV, Jan. 2 – The law on the functioning of Ukraine's electricity market, which foresees the liberalization of the country's wholesale electricity market, took effect on January 1.
The law was passed in parliament on October 24, 2013; it was published the government's Uriadovy Kurier newspaper on December 18, 2013. |
