Deflation more damaging to Ukraine than deflation, says NBU official

KIEV, Oct. 5 – Deflation is more damaging to the Ukrainian economy than inflation, according to NBU Council chief Ihor Prasolov.

"Deflation really does do more harm that inflation, as there are no economic incentives for economic operation," he said by phone in Kiev on Thursday.


Industrial price rise slowed to 0.2% in September, government reports

KIEV, Oct. 8 – Industrial prices in Ukraine grew by 0.2% in September from August, which saw a 0.5% rise compared to July, according to the State Statistics Service.


Karpatnaftokhim complaint prompts PVC dumping probe against US

Ukraine to break ground next month on $1 billion LNG terminal

KIEV, Oct. 8 - Ukraine will break ground on November 15 on a $1 billion liquefied natural gas terminal on the Black Sea, the head of a state agency overseeing the project said Monday.

Vladyslav Kaskiv, the head of the State Investment and National Projects Management Agency, said a pool of undisclosed investors is currently creating a consortium that will finance the project.
