Individual Deposit Fund reports UAH3 billion from failed bank sales

KIEV, Jan. 6 – The Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund tentatively earned around UAH 3 billion from selling property of insolvent banks in 2016, Director of the consolidated sale and asset management department of the fund Yulia Bereschenko said.


Government: Cash transaction cut will bring economy from shadow

Ukraine starts year with reported natural gas reserves up 22.1%

KIEV, Jan. 4 – Ukraine's natural gas reserves at the beginning of 2016 totaled 13.995 billion cubic meters (bcm), whereas a year earlier gas stocks in underground storage facilities amounted to 11.463 bcm.


Kiev retaliatory embargo on Russian goods set to take effect Jan. 10

Ukraine bracing for $1 billion hit to economy, think tank says

KIEV, Jan. 4 – The unilateral revocation of the free trade area with Ukraine by Russia and partial food embargo would result in the reduction of Ukrainian export to the country by slightly over $1 billion or around 1% of GDP, Mykola Ryzhenkov of the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting told Interfax-Ukraine.


No immediate trade increase expected from EU trade deal, official says

Ukraine to lower household utility rates following Russian price drop

KIEV, Jan. 8 – The Cabinet of Ministers has recommended the National Commission for the Regulation of Housing and Utilities Services and local authorities to revise tariffs for heat and hot water from January 1, 2014, taking into account the new gas prices.


Industrial prices reported up 0.7% in December after October drop

KIEV, Jan. 8 – Industrial prices in Ukraine in December rose by 0.7% after falling in November by 1.3%, the State Statistics Service reported.

According to the service, in annual terms (compared to the same month in 2012) industrial prices in the country also increased by 1.7%.


Ukraine suspends natgas imports from Europe after Russia lowers price

KIEV, Jan. 9 - Ukraine suspended imports of natural gas from Europe after Russia had agreed to lower its gas prices by 33% in January, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytskiy said Thursday.
