Producer prices up 0.5% in January after rising 0.7% in December
KIEV, Feb. 6 - Producer prices in Ukraine increased by 0.5% in January after rising by 0.7% in December 2013, the State Statistics Service reported.
In annual terms (compared to the same month in 2013), producer prices in the country rose by 1.9%, which is higher than last year (1.7%). |
Inflation slowed to 0.2% in January, State Statistics Service reports
KIEV, Feb. 6 - Inflation in Ukraine in January 2014 slowed to 0.2% after accelerating to 0.5% in December, returning to the level of November, the State Statistics Service reported.
In annual terms (compared to the same month in 2013) the increase in consumer prices in the country remained at 0.5%. |
Ukraine again postpones restart of Belarus electricity exports
MINSK, Feb. 9 - Ukraine has again postponed the restart of electricity exports to Belarus, this time from February 8 to February 11, PO Belenergo told Interfax.
"Since Ukraine is still experiencing heavy frost and an electricity deficit on the domestic market, Ukrainian supplier Skhidenergo has announced the change of date for restarting electricity supply to Belarus until February 10, inclusive," a Belenergo spokesperson said. |
Naftogaz signs concession agreement for two Egypt hydrocarbon blocks
KIEV, Feb. 9 - Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrayiny, Egyptian state-owned company Ganoub El-Wadi Petroleum Holding Ñî (GANOPE) and the Egyptian Oil Ministry on February 7 signed a concession agreement on developing and subsequently operating two hydrocarbon blocks, Wadi Mahareeth No.8 and No.9, located in the Eastern Desert of Upper Egypt. |
Russian ban could cause 16.8% cheese production drop, says analyst
KIEV, Feb. 9 – A ban by Russia's Rospotrebnadzor of cheese made by three Ukrainian companies could lead to a reduction in cheese production by 16.8% in 2012 in Ukraine compared to the previous year, or 30,000 tons, said Maria Kolesnik, the head of the analytical department of AAA consulting agency. |
