Nova Poshta shifting to use recycled paper instead of plastic in packages
KYIV, May 6 – Nova Poshta is gradually shifting its departments to work with recycled paper instead of foam plastic to fill the voids in the package.
According to the company, this will lead to the fact that parcels will be packaged and shipped about 12% faster, while paper saves the contents of the parcel from damage better than foam. |
Ukraine accelerates natural gas injections in storage facilities
KYIV, May 6 – Ukraine in the first four days of May pumped 54.4 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas a day to its underground storage (UGS) facilities, which is 1.4 times more than in the last 10 days of April (38.9 mcm a day), according to update from Ukrtransgaz. |

KYIV, May 6 – The international reserves of Ukraine in April 2019 decreased by 0.5%, to $20.525 billion (in equivalent) due to the significant amount of public debt repayments, according to preliminary data posted on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). |
Ukraine’s power grid Ukrenergo completes generating frequency tests
KYIV, May 8 – Ukraine’s power grid Ukrenergo has completed a cycle of tests of generating equipment of thermal power plants (TPPs), combined heat and power plants (CHPPs) and hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) to regulate frequency and capacity under the program to study the opportunities for harmonized operation of power grids of Ukraine and Moldova with the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E). |
Ukraine’s pig iron exports down 16.2% on year in January-April
KYIV, May 8 – Ukraine in January-April decreased exports of pig iron in natural terms by 16.2% compared to the same period in 2018, to 858,069 tons.
According to customs statistics released by the State Fiscal Service, during this period exports of cast iron in monetary terms fell by 17.2%, to $281.394 million. |
