KYIV, June 8 – Almost 16,000 Ukrainians applied for work visas in Poland following the end of the coronavirus lockdown at the end of May, Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Bartosz Cichocki said.

KIEV, June 9 – The National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) has almost doubled heat and hot water tariffs for households starting July 1.


Most big Ukraine banks undercapitalized, NBU stress tests show

KIEV, June 9 – Findings of stress testing conducted by the National Bank of Ukraine show that 16 of Ukraine's 20 largest banks have shown the need for additional capitalization, NBU Governor Valeriya Gontareva said at a press conference in Kiev on Thursday.


Ukrnafta will resume royalty payments this month, fiscal service says

KIEV, June 7 – The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFSU) expects that Ukrnafta will resume the payment of oil and gas condensate royalties in June after a break caused by the formation of a new auction committee to sell oil, its own gas condensate production and liquefied gas, SFSU chief Roman Nasirov told reporters in Kiev on Tuesday.


Ukrhydroenergo seeking to start Dnistrova unit four in 2017

KIEV, June 8 – Ukrhydroenergo seeks to start building unit four of Dnistrovska hydroelectric pumped storage power plant in Novodnistrovsk (Chernivtsi region) in 2017 and finish in 2020.


NBU moves to allow repatriation of 2015-2015 dividend payments

KIEV, June 8 – The National Bank of Ukraine, hoping to improve Ukraine's investment climate, has permitted repatriation of dividends accrued to foreign investors for 2014-2015.

The decision is outlined in NBU resolution No. 342 of June 7.


Japan lending ¥108 billion to rebuild Bortnychi aeration station

KIEV, June 8 – Japan confirmed the provision of a JPY 108 billion loan for the reconstruction of Bortnychi aeration station.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe were present during the signing of the respective document in Kiev on Saturday.

KIEV, June 8 – The Interior Ministry has opened a criminal inquiry against the national joint-stock company Naftogaz of Ukraine's former management on charges of abuse of office, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said on Facebook on Sunday evening.


Orion Machine building chairman asks for help from Odessa governor

KIEV, June 8 – Acting state-run Orion Machine-Building Production Association Chairman Volodymyr Barabanov has asked the newly appointed head of Odessa Regional Administration Mikheil Saakashvili to intervene after the company was seized by armed persons in April 2015 without any reaction from the local authorities and law-enforcement agencies.


Ukreximbank seeking more time to pay off 2018 loan participation notes

KIEV, June 9 – State-run Ukreximbank (Kiev) has asked the holders of its loan participation notes (LPNs) worth $600 million, due on January 22, 2018, to agree to the cancellation of the 2018 notes in consideration for issuance by the issuer of the new 2025 notes, the issuer said on the website of the Irish Stock Exchange.
