2008 budget allocates UAH2 billion to shield against natgas increase
KIEV, Sept. 7 – The cabinet has proposed allocation of almost UAH2 billion in the 2008 national budget for the compensation of the difference between the price of imported gas that the national Naftogaz Ukrayiny has to buy, and the price of the gas it sells to heat supply enterprises. |
SPF leader casts doubt on 2008 budget privatization revenue target
KIEV, Sept. 7 – The government official in charge of Ukraine’s privatization effort has cast doubt on the Cabinet of Ministers projection of UAH7 billion in privatization revenues that is being used—along with UAH10.7 of borrowing—to partially offset government spending in the 2008 budget.

Ukraine’s grain exports are hampered by queues of railcars: Ukrzaliznytsia
KYIV, Aug 8 – The export of agricultural products from Ukraine continues to be hampered by queues of grain wagons at the western border, an increase in railway transportation tariffs by Ukrzaliznytsia, as well as a lack of free transport and low purchase prices for agricultural crops on the domestic market, according to the website of the Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC).

NBU, IFC sign memorandum on expanding access to credit in Ukraine
KYIV, Aug 7 – National Bank of Ukraine Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko and Regional Manager of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Jason Pellmar signed a memorandum on expanding access to credit and promoting electronic payments in the country.

Ukraine’s forex reserves up 1% to $28.8-bln in July, NBU says
KYIV, Aug 7 – Ukraine's foreign exchange reserves in July 2020 increased by 1%, to $28.802 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
"The growth of reserves over the past month was due, first of all, to the successful placement of eurobonds by the government," the central bank said.
