Ukraine’s long-term bonds look attractive on IMF deal, BofA Merrill Lynch says

KYIV, Dec 9 – Ukraine’s long-term bonds are becoming an attractive investment as the government has reached a deal with the International Monetary Fund that will accelerate its economy, Bank of America Merrill Lynch reported.


Majority of holders back Kiev $250 million 2015 eurobond restructure

KIEV, Dec. 8 - Kiev's proposal over the restructuring of $250 million eurobonds maturing in 2015 has been backed by 57.07% of the security holders.

Kiev intends to extend the deadline for applications for securities conversion until December 16, the issuer said in a statement.


Ukraine industrial prices rose 4.2% in October, government reports

KIEV, Dec. 8 – Industrial prices in Ukraine in November, after a brief decline in October by 0.7%, rose by 4.2%, returning to the pace of May, the State Statistics Service said.


G7 discussing new $4 billion Ukraine aid package, WSJ reports

KIEV, Dec. 8 – The Group of Seven nations, or G7, are discussing a new financial package for Ukraine which could amount to some $4 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported with reference to several officials familiar with the discussions.


Ukraine may import up to 1.5 gigawatts of electricity from Russia

KIEV, Dec. 8 - Ukraine may import up to 1.5 gigawatts of Russian electricity, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said.

"We are in the final stages of [negotiations] on imports. It would be approximately 1,500 megawatts," he said in an interview with channel 1+1 on Sunday night.


Trilateral Group will focus on Minsk agreement, says State Department

WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 – A new meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk (Belarus) over the situation in Donbas won't discuss a new ceasefire agreement, it will focus on the implementation of the ceasefire agreed to in Minsk in September, spokesperson for the U.S. State Department Jennifer Psaki said.


Cabinet of Ministers extends emergency power market regulations

KIEV, Dec. 9 – The Cabinet of Ministers has extended emergency measures on the power market for another month.

The decision is stipulated in cabinet resolution No. 1195-r of December 8.


Ukraine begins importing supplies of natural gas from Russia

KIEV, Dec. 9 – Ukraine began importing natural gas from Russia today, December 9, the head of public relations at gas transport operator Ukrtransgaz, Maksym Beliavsky, told Interfax.


Ukrtransgaz says its working on MOU with Slovakia's Eustream

KIEV, Dec. 9 – Ukrtransgaz, the operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system, is continuing to work on the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the operator of the Slovakian gas transport system Eustream on reverse gas supplies, the company told Interfax-Ukraine.


EU didn't offer enough association agreement money, says 1st DPM

KIEV, Dec. 9 - Ukraine needs to borrow at least $10 billion to sustain its balance of payments "but we were offered 610 million euros" by the European Union as part of an association agreement that Ukraine opted against signing late last month, First Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov said in a television program aired on Saturday.
