Solarenergo LLC completes construction of Kherson region solar plant

KIEV, Feb. 7 – Solarenergo LLC has completed the construction of a solar power plant with an installed capacity of 9.806 MW in Skadovsk district of Kherson region, the Dilova Stolytsia (Business Capital) reported.

Lviv council balks at Chevron shale gas production sharing agreement

LVIV, Feb. 7 - Lviv Regional Council will not agree to a production sharing agreement with Chevron, which foresees shale gas production, until it gets answers to questions about environmental threats to the region, Regional Council Chairman Petro Kolodiy said on Thursday.


Ukraine to supply 120,000 tons of steel pipe to Russia in first half

MOSCOW/KIEV, Feb. 8 – Ukraine has agreed on duty-free supplies of 120,000 tons of steel pipe to Russia in H1.

A protocol on amending the agreement on the regulation of supplies of some types of steel pipes from Ukraine to Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan was posted on the official online legal portal.

Ukrainian cabinet denies Centras charges in 11 bcm gas transfer

KIEV, Feb. 10 – The Ukrainian cabinet has denied all the allegations raised by Centragas Holding AG, a shareholder in RosUkrEnergo, in respect of transaction related to 11 billion cubic meters of gas that was carried out in early 2009.


NBU reports further deterioration of Ukrainian bank loan portfolio

KIEV, Feb. 8 – The share of bad loans in Ukraine in December 2009 grew by 0.6 interest point to 9.4% as of January 1, 2010, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.

The amount of bad loans in monetary terms in December expanded by 7.1%, or UAH 4.618 billion, to UAH 69.935 billion.


Trade group: Iron and steel producers could boost output 8% in 2010

KIEV, Feb. 8 - Ukrainian iron ore miners and steel producers could boost output for core products at least 7%-8% in 2010, an Industrial Policy Ministry representative told Interfax, quoting figures from the Metallurgprom association.


TNK-BP reports 26% cut in Lysychansk oil refinery investment

KIEV, Feb. 9 - TNK-BP oil company cut investment in the Lysychansk oil refinery (CJSC LINIK, Luhansk region) by 26% in 2009, to some $40 million, TNK-BP Commerce Ltd. spokesman Dmytro Zverev told Interfax-Ukraine.
