Ukraine to pick investor to develop Dolphin section of Black Sea shelf

KYIV, March 6 – Ukraine under a proposal of U.S. Frontera Resources will hold a tender to develop the Black Sea shelf within the Dolphin section located in the northwest of the continental shelf of the Black Sea under a product sharing agreement (PSA).


Europe-bound oil shipments via Ukraine up 3.1% on year in Jan-Feb

KYIV, March 6 – Crude oil transit by pipelines via Ukraine to Europe in January-February 2019 grew by 3.1%, or 66,700 tons, year-over-year, to 2.202 million tons, JSC Ukrtransnafta has said.

KIEV, March 9 - Ukraine since the beginning of the 2015/2016 heating season has reduced natural gas stocks in its underground gas storage facilities (UGS) by 43.3%, or 7.391 billion cubic meters.


Coal, metal and fuel prices drive February industrial price increase

KIEV, March 10 – Industrial prices in Ukraine after a 1.1% decrease in January rose by 1.5% in February mainly due to a rise in prices for coal, metal ore and hydrocarbons, the State Statistics Service reported.


Prices fell in February after rising in January, government reports

KIEV, March 10 - Consumer prices in Ukraine decreased by 0.4% in February after rising 0.9% in January and 0.7% in December, the State Statistics Service reported.


DTEK readying international lawsuits against feed-in tariff reduction

KIEV, March 6 – Ukraine's largest private energy company DTEK is preparing lawsuits to be sent to international courts against the decision of the National Commission of Ukraine for Energy and Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) on reducing feed-in tariffs by 50%, DTEK Director General Maksym Tymchenko said.


Moody's: Russian banks could face $30 billion hit in Ukraine crisis

MOSCOW, March 7 – Russian banks operating in Ukraine have nearly $30 billion at risk, reads a survey of Moody's Investors Service.

The service assesses the total influence of assets that bring a Ukrainian risk to Russian banks at $30 billion. Moody's said that Russian bank asset quality and profitability are facing pressure from the Ukraine crisis.


Government moves to reassure Shell on shale gas extraction projects

KIEV, March 7 - Ukraine on Friday assured Shell that the new government is committed to continuing shale gas extraction projects as a way of reducing dependence on natural gas imports from Russia.
