Operation of Ukraine’s largest film distributor halted by tax police
KIEV, April 10 – B&H, the biggest cinema distribution company in Ukraine, has had its account documentation and equipment seized by the tax police, B&H owner Bohdan Batrukh said at a press conference in Kiev.
On April 5, the tax police examined the Kiev office of the LeDoyen recording studio, which dubs films into Ukrainian. |
Parliament votes for temporary reduction of oil and diesel excises
KIEV, April 7 – Parliament has supported a bill on a temporary reduction in excise duty on gasoline by EUR 50 per ton and diesel fuel by EUR 20-30 per ton.
The bill was supported by 285 MPs on Thursday.
In keeping with the bill, the reduced quotas will be in effect until July 31, 2011, in order to stabilize the situation on the fuel market. |
NBU advisor sees chance of cutting inflation this year to 8.9%
KIEV, April 8 – Inflation in Ukraine was 3.3% in Q1 compared to 4.7% year-over-year, which means there is still a good chance of cutting inflation this year from 9.1% to 8.9%, as envisaged by the national budget, according to Valeriy Lytvytsky, the head of the group of advisors to the NBU governor.
He said in an interview that the year-on-year inflation was 7.7% in the past two months, while a year ago it was 11%. |
Black Sea Economic group signs energy cooperation deal with EU
KIEV, April 10 – Representatives of the states belonging to the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) have signed a joint declaration on cooperation with the European Union in the energy sector.
The declaration was signed during a meeting of representatives of energy ministries of the BSEC Organization in Kiev on Wednesday, Interfax-Ukraine reported. |
Ukraine??™s industrial output up 12.5% on year in January-March
KIEV, April 10 ??“ Ukraine's industrial output grew by 12.5% on the year in the first quarter of 2007, compared with 13.4% in the first two months of 2007, the State Statistics Committee reported on Tuesday.
In March 2007 alone, industrial production increased by 10.7% from March 2006, whereas in February 2007 it was 11% and in January 15.8% year-over-year. |
