Ukraine’s unemployment rate to drop this year from 21.1% in 2022: NBU
KYIV, May 8 – The unemployment rate in Ukraine on average for 2023 will decrease from 21.1% in 2022, such an updated forecast was published by the National Bank in its Inflation Report, explaining it by an improvement in the review of the methodology and positive trends in the labor market.

Ukraine’s power sector survives Russian missile strikes

European Commission may restrict imports of poultry, eggs from Ukraine
KYIV, May 10 – The European Commission is studying the situation on the market of poultry meat, eggs, and frozen fruit and is ready to return to tariff quotas if Ukraine maintains the current volume of their supplies to Europe, EU Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski said.

PepsiCo resumes production of Sandora juices at facility in Kyiv region
KYIV, May 10 – Since March of this year, PepsiCo Ukraine has resumed the production of juices under the Sandora and Sadochok brands at its production facilities in the city of Vyshneve, Kyiv region, and also launched the production of drinks in Mykolaiv region, Head of Corporate Communications Department Alina Matkovska has told Interfax-Ukraine.

Most of businesses shut down in Mykolaiv due to Russian bombing, attacks
KYIV, May 10 – Mykolaiv has lost approximately 90% of its business during the Russian full-scale invasion, Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych has said.
"There are almost no production facilities in Mykolaiv. So, all enterprises have closed, many enterprises have relocated. Today, the city survives solely on the military personal income tax. |
Middle East, Africa may face food shortages without Ukraine’s exports
KYIV, May 6 – Countries importing agricultural products, primarily the Middle East and Africa, will not be able to do without export supplies of Ukrainian agricultural products, since it is physically impossible to replace its volumes with supplies from the aggressor country of the Russian Federation or from any other, this was stated by First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky on the air of Ukraine 24 TV channel on Friday.
