Norway's Scatec Solar to decide on future solar projects in Ukraine
KYIV, June 10 – Norway's Scatec Solar is finishing the last planned solar power generation facility in Ukraine and has not yet made a decision to abandon its intentions to develop future projects in this regard.
"There is no such decision yet. We are all on standby. We are finishing a 150 MW solar power plant in Mykolaiv region. |
Ukraine, Poland sign gas pipeline interconnection agreement
KYIV, June 10 – The Ukrainian and Polish gas transmission system operators – Gas TSO of Ukraine LLC and Operator Gazociagow Przesylowych GAZ SYSTEM S.A. – have signed the new interconnection agreement, which prescribes uniting existing two interconnection points – IP Drozdowicze and IP Hermanowice – into one single virtual interconnection point – GCP GAZ-SYSTEM/UA TSO.

Most Ukrainian motorists reduce car use during coronavirus lockdown
KYIV, June 10 – Due to lockdown restrictions in April-May, some 55% of car owners reduced the number of trips made with a privately owned car, while 26% of respondents reduced the number of trips by more than 40%, according to the results of a sociological survey conducted by Factum Group on demand of A-95 Consulting Group, the group said in a press release.

NBU leaves rates at 17.5% amid increasing risk of inflation
KYIV, June 7 – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) board has decided to keep the refinancing rate at 17.5%, citing inflationary risk.
"The decision was required to neutralize inflation risks, which have increased since the previous decision taken in April, and to attain the 5% inflation target next year," the NBU said on its website. |
OPIC praises Ukraine for high pace of nuclear fuel storage construction
KYIV, June 6 – Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) has inspected the project on construction of the central spent nuclear fuel storage facility and made a positive conclusion regarding the course of construction of the facility, the press service of National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom has reported. |
Naftogaz seeks to spend dividends to boost natural gas reserves
KYIV, June 6 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny chief Andriy Kobolev called on the Cabinet of Ministers to postpone the payment of dividends by the company and help to attract loans for pumping gas into the underground gas storage (UGS) facilities of Ukraine for successfully passing the new heating season by the country. |
