Prime minister orders study of possible fuel import investigation

KIEV, July 9 - Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has instructed the Economic Development and Trade Ministry and the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry to study the issue of conducting a new special investigation into fuel imports.


Budget borrowing to increase to UAH98.5b this year, from UAH80.6b

KIEV, July 9 – The financing of Ukraine's national budget through borrowing in 2012 is planned at UAH 98.5 billion, with 38.1% of the loans to be taken on the foreign market, while in 2011 state borrowing came to UAH 80.6 billion, of which 33.7% was foreign borrowing.

Ukraine GDP to grow 2.4% in 2012, 3.5% next year, Fitch says

KIEV, July 10 – Ukraine’s economy will expand 2.4% in 2012, but will accelerate growth to 3.5% in 2013, reflecting likely stronger external demand for steel, Fitch Ratings said Tuesday in a report.

“Economic performance is dependent on the highly cyclical steel sector, and growth is sensitive to a downturn in the global economy or a eurozone growth shock,” Fitch said in the report.

Electricity regulator issues 20-year license to Omao Solar plant

KIEV, July 7 - The National Electricity Regulatory Commission has issued a 20-year electricity generating license to the Omao Solar plant.

The regulator made the decision at a meeting in Kiev on Thursday.


Ukraine considering ruble-denominated bond, says finance minister

KIEV, July 7 - Ukraine is studying the possibility of issuing bonds denominated in Russian rubles, but is not yet planning to borrow because of unfavorable conditions on external markets, the country's Finance Minister Fedir Yaroshenko told reporters in Kiev on Thursday.

Bogdan car plant reports 63.3% increase in output during H1

KIEV, July 8 - Bogdan car plant (earlier Lutsk car plant), part of the Bogdan Corporation, in January to June 2008 increased car output in Lutsk and Cherkasy by 63.3% compared to January to June 2007, to 41,369 cars, Bogdan press secretary Serhiy Krasulia told Interfax-Ukraine.


Belgium’s Immo Industry Group signs deal for Kiev V industrial park

KIEV, July 9 - Belgium's Immo Industry Group developing company (IIG) has signed an agreement on the construction and leasing of 11,500 square meters of space in the Kiev V industrial park with Finland's Nokian Tyres, IIG has told Interfax-Ukraine.
