Naftogaz aide sees Gazprom skipping deal with Ukraine before year-end

Germany to loan €32.5 million to modernize transformer substations
KIEV, Nov. 8 – Germany will provide a loan of up to EUR 32.5 million to Ukraine for up to 30 years with a grace period of 10 years under the second phase of the project on increase of energy efficiency in power transmission (modernization of transformer substations) by the end of this year, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine reported on Tuesday. |
Ukraine reduces banana imports by 34.4% y-o-y through Oct. 31
KIEV, Nov. 9 - Ukraine in January-October reduced banana imports by 34.4% compared to the same period in 2014, to 114,740 tons.
According to customs statistics made public by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, in monetary terms imports fell by 44.8%, to $97.84 million. |
Derzhzovnishinform: 12% sugar price spike caused by speculators
KIEV, Nov. 9 – Wholesale sugar prices in Ukraine grew by 12% over the past month, Derzhzovnishinform state enterprise announced.
The company said that the upward trends are linked to groundless speculation on a possible sugar shortage this season and real growth in the cash cost of sugar due to the hryvnia devaluation. |
