Ukraine reduces power exports 92.6% on year in January, Ukrenergo reports

KYIV, Feb 11 – Ukraine in January 2021 reduced electricity exports by 92.6% (by 645.3 million kWh) compared to the same period in 2020, to 51.9 million kWh, according to the data of Ukrenergo.


Ukrainian banks report net income down 29% to UAH 41.3-bln in 2020

KYIV, Feb 11 – Ukrainian banks saw UAH 41.3 billion in net profit in 2020, which is 29% less than a year earlier, but in the fourth quarter the decline was 63% due to increased contributions to reserves, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) said on Thursday.


DTEK vows to increase coal imports to 450,000mt in February 11

Metinvest revenue 13% on month to $693-mln in November 2019

KYIV, Feb 10 – The revenue of Metinvest B.V. (the Netherlands), the parent company of Metinvest mining and smelting group, in November 2019 decreased by 13%, or by $104 million compared to the previous month, to $693 million from $797 million.


Ukraine’s Interpipe group reports output up 7% on year in 2019

KYIV, Feb 10 – Interpipe, a vertically integrated pipe and wheel company, in 2019 reduced sales of pipe and railway products in natural terms by 7% compared to the previous year, to 798,000 tons, while the share of exports in the structure of sales amounted to 76%, the share of the domestic market decreased to 24% from 28%.


Ukraine’s monthly inflation drops to 0.2% in January, govt reports

KYIV, Feb 10 – Inflation in Ukraine in January 2020 amounted to 0.2% compared to 1% in January 2019, which led to its annual decline to 3.2% from 4.1%, the State Statistics Service has reported.


Six members of NBU’s committee suggest 2-point interest rate cut

KYIV, Feb 10 – Six out of 10 members of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) have advocated cutting the key policy rate by 2 percentage points (pp) instead of 2.5 pp cut, according to the results of a meeting of the NBU MPC held on January 29.
