Kharkiv Tractor plant to supply up to 1,000 engines to Volvo

KIEV, Oct. 9 – Kharkiv Tractor Plant has signed a contract to supply up to 1,000 engines to Volvo, Plant Director General Vladyslav Hubin said.

"The contract was signed in February – this was shipment of test engines. The contract for batch supplies was signed in late September," he said.

KIEV, Oct. 8 - Coal stockpiles at Ukraine's thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants (CHPP) rose by 22.3% in January-September 2015 increased by 22.3% and by October 1 amounted to 2.373 million tons, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry told Interfax-Ukraine.

KIEV, Oct. 10 – Dniprospetsstal (Zaporizhia) could dismiss 25% of its staff by December 1 this year due to a lack of orders and problems with VAT refunds.

According to the company, to avoid a complete stop in the enterprise, the plant management decided to bring the staff numbers in line with its current output capacity.

Ukraine could double grain exports this year, says trade group leader

KIEV, Oct. 11 – Ukraine by late 2011 could double its grain exports to ten million tons, Volodymyr Lapa, Director General of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club, has said.

"The situation on the grain market was settled in time as expected [by market players]. It will give a chance for them to export around ten million tons of grain by January 1, 2012 with the export potential being 24-25 million tons…


EBRD ready to take part in electric co privatizations, says official

KIEV, Oct. 10 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is ready to take part in the privatization of Ukrainian electricity supply and generating companies, Riccardo Puliti, the managing director in charge of the energy and natural resources sectors at the EBRD, said in an interview with the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia Ukraine newspaper.
