ChornomorNaftogaz announces tender for self-elevating offshore rig

KIEV, Aug. 26 - Ukraine’s state-owned oil and gas company ChornomorNaftoGaz announced a tender to buy a new self-elevating offshore drilling rig to expand development of oil and gas deposits in the Black Sea.

President knocks coal sector for inefficient management system

KIEV, Aug. 28 – The management system in the coal sector is inefficient, President Viktor Yushchenko told the press in Novovolynsk in Volyn region.

He said that, unfortunately, new mines rarely open in Ukraine and coal extraction is falling.

He said that there is no extensive technical upgrade of the sector.


Naftogaz Ukrayiny denies impact of tax deferral payments on budget

KIEV, Aug. 28 – The national Naftogaz Ukrayiny has denied that its deferred tax payments, which have been approved by the cabinet, will lead to a shortfall in revenues to the social part of the national budget of Ukraine, the company said on Monday.
