IFC to lend MV Cargo $37 million to build grain export terminal

KIEV, Jan. 11 – The International Finance Corporation (IFC) on January 9 approved the provision of a $37 million loan to M.V. Cargo LLC to build a grain export terminal at the Yuzhny maritime merchandise port (Odessa region).

KIEV. Jan 11 - Ukraine in 2016 increased banana imports by 31.6% compared to 2015, to 191,981 tons.

According to customs statistics made public by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, in monetary terms imports grew by 7.7%, to $133.148 million.


Potash and phosphate fertilizer imports reported up sharply last year

KIEV. Jan 11 – Ukraine in 2016 imported 146,730 tons of potash fertilizers and 17,840 tons of phosphate fertilizers, 7.5% and 22.5% more, respectively, than in 2015, the State Fiscal Service reported.


Ukraine cast iron exports reported higher by 16.9% last year

KIEV, Jan. 11 - Ukraine in 2016 increased cast iron exports in kind by 16.9%, to 2.54 million tons.

According to customs statistics, made public by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, exports of cast iron in monetary terms grew by 7.9% during this period, to $551.215 million.


Ex-NBU official: Ukraine banks, banking assets, will decrease in 2017

KIEV, Jan. 11 – The assets of Ukraine's banking system by the end of 2017 will amount to UAH 1.5-1.6 trillion (as of October 1, 2016 some UAH 1.27 trillion), while the number of banks will not exceed 75-80 against 95 currently operating, former deputy head of the National Bank of Ukraine Vladyslav Rashkovan forecasts.


Run-of mine coal output increased 2.8% last year, government reports

KIEV, Jan. 11 - Ukrainian coal mining enterprises in 2016 increased production of run-of-mine coal by 2.8%, or 1.119 million tons, year-over-year, to 40.864 million tons, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry reported.

KIEV, Jan. 12 – The Burisma Group, which has oil and gas assets in Ukraine, has reported that all legal proceedings and pending criminal allegations against its President Mykola Zlochevsky and operating companies of Burisma Group have been closed.
