Tenders for 4G (LTE) communications licenses to be held this autumn
KIEV, April 12 – The 4G (LTE) communications network could appear in Kiev in six months after holding the tenders to receive the licenses, which are scheduled by the National Commission for Communications and Informatization Regulation (NCCR) for this autumn, CEO of Ericsson Ukraine Andrew Shomakhiya said. |

Metinvest warns Russians against use of seized Donbas property

Ukraine and China agree to cooperate in space sector through 2020
KIEV, April 11 - Ukraine and China have approved a long-term program of cooperation in the space sector for the period of 2016-2020.
According to the State Space Agency of Ukraine, the document was approved at a meeting of the subcommittee on cooperation in the space sector of the Ukrainian-Chinese intergovernmental commission in Kiev on April 7-8. |
Industrial prices spike 4% in March in highest rise in 11 months
KIEV, April 11 – Industrial prices in Ukraine, following a 1.1% decrease in January and a February increase of 1.5%, jumped 4% in March (the highest rise since April 2015), due to the rise in prices for oil and petroleum products, as well as metal ore and electricity. |
Local currency bank deposits rose 1.5% last month, NBU reports
KIEV, April 11 – The volume of individual bank deposits in the national currency grew by 1.5% in March, to UAH 182.828 billion, while deposits in foreign currency expanded by 0.1%, to $8.652 billion (in the dollar equivalent), the National Bank of Ukraine said. |
Auto seat manufacturer switching to Ukraine to save on labor costs
KIEV, April 11 – The Groclin manufacturer of automobile seat covers and upholstery for car seats to reduce costs intends to focus on production at its two plants in Ukraine (Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions), taking into account a cheaper labor force, according to Polskie Radio (Polish Radio). |
Ukraine trying to prolong $2 billion loan from Russia’s VTB
KIEV, April 11 – Talks with Russia's Bank VTB on prolonging a $2 billion loan are at the final stage, Economic Development and Trade Minister Petro Poroshenko said.
"The talks [with VTB] are at the final stage. We either have to to repay [the loan], take a new one, or revise [the loan agreement]," he told reporters on Wednesday. |
