USDA cuts forecasts for Ukraine grain production and exports
KIEV, Nov. 11 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture has lowered its forecasts for Ukrainian grain production and exports in the 2015/2016 marketing year (July through June) by 3.2% and 5.6% compared to its the October forecasts, to 59.825 million tons and 33.68 million tons, respectively. |
Skhidny Mining reports 30.7% increase in uranium production
KIEV, Nov. 12 - Ukrainian state enterprise Skhidny Mining and Enrichment Combine (VostGOK), Ukraine's only uranium ore producer and processor, produced 691.3 tons of natural uranium concentrate in January-September 2012, up 30.7% from 528.8 tons in the same period of 2011, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry said in a report. |
Ukraine to break ground on $1 billion Black Sea LNG terminal
KIEV, Nov. 12 - Ukraine is within days to break ground on a $1 billion liquefied natural gas terminal on the Black Sea, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Boyko said Monday.
The terminal, which is to be built in near the port of Odessa, is part of a plan to ease Ukraine’s dependence on imports of Russian natural gas, he said. |
Oil supplies to Ukraine refineries reported off 1.3% through Oct. 31
KIEV, Nov. 9 - Oil supplies to Ukrainian refineries dropped by 1.3% year-on-year in January-October to 7.746 million tons, the Fuel and Energy Ministry announced.
Including vacuum gas-oil and gas condensate, five Ukrainian refineries received 8.575 million tons oil crude over the ten months, which was a year-on-year increase of 2.2%. |
YTD electricity consumption off 12% through end of last month
KIEV, Nov. 10 - Electricity consumption in Ukraine in January to October, taking into account losses in electricity transmission, fell by 12% or by 18.535 billion kilowatt-hours year-on-year, to 135.962 billion kilowatt-hours, the Fuel and Energy Ministry told Interfax-Ukraine.
