Government to review taxation system for gas production companies
KIEV, April 10 – The Ukrainian government will review the system of taxation of gas production companies irrespective of their form of ownership.
This is stipulated in the draft guidelines of Ukraine's budget policy, or the budget resolution, for 2016, which was tabled by the Cabinet of Ministers in parliament. |

Government OKs privatization list of 9 utilities, 2 generating cos
KIEV, April 13 - The Ukrainian government has approved a list of nine regional power utilities and two generating companies for privatization in 2011.
The government said in an instruction dated April 11 but made public on April 12 that it would sell 25% of the Dniproenergo generation company and 45.1% of Zakhidenergo. |
Ukraine hoping for $1.5 billion from IMF in June, says official
KIEV, April 12 – Ukraine hopes to get a $1.5 billion tranche of a loan from the International Monetary Fund in June after a fund mission visits Kiev from May 10 to May 20, said Serhiy Makatsariya, director of the Department for Public Debt Management and International Cooperation at the Ukrainian Finance Ministry. |
World Bank economist calls for curtailment of Ukraine tax breaks
KIEV, April 13 – Tax benefits in Ukraine should be revised, World Bank Senior Economist for Ukraine Pablo Saavedra said at a roundtable devoted to taxation in Ukraine.
The roundtable was organized by the League of Financial Development, the representative office of the World Bank in Ukraine and the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia (Mirror Weekly) newspaper. |
NBU: Supply of foreign currency continues to outstrip demand
KIEV, April 12 – Foreign currency supply continues to outstrip demand on Ukraine's interbank forex market in April, reads a report on the National Bank of Ukraine's Web site.
"The foreign currency supply on the interbank forex market became dominant at the beginning of April. Due to this, the NBU entered the forex market every day and had the opportunity to buy currency. |
Ukrainian auto manufacturer may lay off 3,500 employees in H1
KIEV, April 10 - Bogdan Corporation, one of the largest players on the car manufacturing market in Ukraine, by the end of the first half of the year could lay off another 3,500 employees, while at present a total of 9,500 employees work at all subdivision of the corporation. |
