US SEC lawsuit cites two Ukraine investment companies for fraud

KIEV, Aug. 13 - The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a lawsuit for fraud against a number of professional stock market participants, the list of which includes two well-known investment companies and six traders from Ukraine.

Ukraine's monetary base expanded by 1.1% in July, NBU reports

KIEV, Aug. 12 – Ukraine's monetary base expanded by 1.1% in July, to UAH 278.9 billion, while money supply grew by 1.7%, to UAH 850.3 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine said on Monday.


Electricity output up 3.4% so far this year, says ministry source

KIEV, Aug. 13 - Ukraine's integrated power grids decreased electricity output by 3.4% or 3.911 billion kilowatt-hours year-over-year in January-July, to 112.093 billion kilowatt-hours, an Energy and Coal Industry Ministry source told Interfax-Ukraine.

NBU official touts success of 2012 gold investment coin sales

KIEV, Aug. 13 – The National Bank of Ukraine has sold 9,800 Ukrainian investment coins worth over UAH 27.5 million since the start of 2012, Deputy NBU Governor Vira Rychakivska said at a presentation of new golden investment coins.
