Sweden’s Embracer buys Ukrainian video gaming company for $45-mln
KYIV, Aug 13 – Swedish Embracer Group AB Holding ("Embracer"), through its wholly-owned subsidiary Saber Interactive, has entered into an agreement to acquire 100 percent of Kyiv/Malta-based 4A Games Limited ("4A Games") famous for Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, Metro Exodus games.

Kyivstar, 1+1 media see 35% increase in activity in Kyivstar TV platform
KYIV, Aug 12 – Kyivstar and 1+1 media note a 35% increase in activity on the Kyivstar TV platform in the first half of 2020.
According to the press service of the mobile operator, while the growth of the audience interest in January-March was gradual, the activity sharply increased by 20% in April.

Ostchem Retail signs deals with six Ukrainian banks on lending
KYIV, Aug 12 – Ostchem Retail, the retail business of the Ostchem holding, part of Group DF owned by Dmytro Firtash and dealing with nitrogen business, has signed an agreement for the 2020-2021 marketing year with six Ukrainian banks on target crediting for the purchase of nitrogen fertilizers by agrarians.

Kyiv court rules in favor of Oshchadbank in case with Sberbank of Russia
KYIV, Aug 12 – The Kyiv Pivnichny Economic Court of Appeals on August 10 granted the appeal of the state-owned financial institution Oschadbank (Kyiv) and rejected the claim of Sberbank of Russia to cancel the Sberbank trademark, the intellectual property rights to which belong to Oschadbank in the territory of Ukraine, according to the website of the state-owned bank.

Ukraine increases underground gas stocks 90% to 16.62-Bcm
KYIV, Aug 12 – Ukraine boosted its underground gas stocks 1.9 times or 7.874 billion cubic meters (bcm), to 16.619 bcm between April 4, when the last heating season ended, and August 10, according to preliminary data from Ukrtransgaz. |
Ukraine drops ferroalloy exports 2.7% on year in January-July
KYIV, Aug 13 – Ukraine in January-July 2019 decreased exports of ferroalloys 2.7% compared to the same period last year, to 533,217 tons.
According to customs statistics made public by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, exports of ferroalloys in monetary terms fell by 5.8%, to $585.020 million. |
Ukraine has ‘Plan B’ in case Russia suspends gas transit, official says
KYIV, Aug 13 – A group to negotiate extension of Russian gas transit via Ukraine will be set up after Ukraine forms a new government but it would be irresponsible not to have a Plan B in case no agreements are reached, Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksandr Danyliuk said in a statement. |
