Around 25-30 banks delaying payments to clients, says AUB president

KIEV, Oct. 28 – Around 25-30 banks are delaying payments to their clients, the president of the Association of Ukrainian Banks (AUB), Oleksandr Suhoniako, said on Tuesday.

"Around 25 banks have problems with a delay in payments, including to the public," he said.

Construction of new passenger terminal starts at Boryspil Airport

KIEV, Oct. 27 – The construction of a new D passenger terminal has started at Boryspil International Airport.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported that Transport and Communications Minister Yosyp Vinsky, the Japanese ambassador to Ukraine, Tadashi Izawa, the Turkish ambassador to Ukraine, Erdogan Iscan, representatives of local authorities, the president of Turkey's Dogus/Alarko/YDA Company, which will build the terminal, Burak Talu, and the director general of state enterprise Boryspil International Airport, Borys Shakhsuvarov, took part in the Friday ceremony devoted to the start of the terminal's construction.


ZAZ may cut auto output 40% in near future due to lack of demand

KIEV, Oct. 27 – Zaporizhia Car Building Plant (ZAZ) in the near future may cut production by 40% due to the financial crisis, although measures taken by UkrAvto Corporation, which incorporates ZAZ, are ensuring a stable financial state at the company, MP Tarieal Vasadze, honorary president of UkrAvto, told Interfax-Ukraine.


Banker calls on MPs to pass bill dealing with financial crisis

KIEV, Oct. 28 –The adoption of an anti-crisis law is needed to receive the more than $16 billion allocated by the International Monetary Fund to Ukraine, although the bill is not enough to overcome consequences of the world's financial crisis for the country, according to Serhiy Tihipko, chairman of Swedbank and co-chairman of the Ukrainian government’s Council of Investors.

Ukraine, Korean Water Resources Corp to restore destroyed infrastructure

KYIV, Sept 27 – The State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Korean Water Resources Corporation K-water will work to restore the infrastructure of settlements destroyed during the Russian aggression, the corresponding memorandum of cooperation was signed on September 25.
